-
The studio is open weekdays from 9am to 5pm and closed on weekends and holidays. Sessions and consultations are by appointment only. Select appointments can be made after hours especially for sunset portraits.
- How do I schedule and book a session with you?
-
You can either click the contact link on the website or call the studio at 903.487.2865
- Where are you located?
-
The studio is located at 217 S. Travis St in historic downtown Sherman, Texas. We are just half a block off of the square and face the side of Knight’s Furniture. Just look for the turquoise door.
- How far in advance do we need to book a session?
-
Typically sessions are booked out weeks to a month in advance. It is a good idea to reserve your preferred date early especially for family and high school senior portraits during peak months.
- What payment options do you accept?
-
Whether you're all about that cash money, prefer the old-school checkbook charm, or want to rack up those airline miles with your credit cards, we're thrilled to let you know that we gladly accept all three! Your payment, your choice!
- When will I get my portraits?
-
Two weeks after the session, you will come back to the studio where you will see the edited images in a full slideshow. With Courtney’s assistance, you will then choose which products you would like to purchase. Print products take anywhere from 4-6 weeks depending on the design, printing and shipping process. Should you choose the digital images as one of your products, you will receive those, along with your keepsake box of 4x6 proofs that day.
- Do you have a cancellation policy?
-
Session fees are non-refundable, however with 48 hours notice, sessions can be rescheduled in case of an emergency, illness or weather. Order cancellations are not permitted once design work has begun. Digital files are non refundable.
- Can we request specific shots or styles for the session?
-
If you have specific shots or poses that you would like from your session, please let us know. Courtney will always remain true to her style, but loves clients to be an active participant in their session.
- What do we wear for our portraits?
-
We will have a consultation before your session to discuss where you plan on displaying your portraits. That is where we will talk about how to coordinate outfits. If you are planning on hanging a family portrait in your living room, we ideally want that portrait to fit into the style and decor of your space.
If you are having a professional headshot or branding session, then we will discuss your goals for those images and how you want to be seen by your audience.
- Can we bring props or personal items for the session?
-
Absolutely! While Courtney aims to keep things simple, leaving the focus on her subjects, she loves it when clients bring items that are near and dear to them. If you play a musical instrument, bring it. If your toddler wants to bring his favorite stuffed animal, bring it. High School Seniors, please oh please bring your awards, medals, art, sports gear and memorabilia. Those things help her tell your story.
- Will you guide us with posing during the session?
-
That is part of a photographers job. Courtney strives to get as much as possible correct in camera. What does that mean? She doesn't just click the shutter and say, "oh I'll fix that in photoshop." Anyone can do that. She will position you in poses that are flattering for you and will adjust everything from clothing to hair. Sometimes poses feel awkward or unnatural but when you see them through her lens, chef's kiss!
- Do you offer both print and digital options for products?
-
My portrait products are offered in print and digital form through my Create A Collection. You choose your own collection or package by choosing any TWO OR MORE products from my offerings. One of those can be digital files, but the other must be a printed product. The only exclusions from this are professional headshots and personal branding sessions.
- What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate on the day of an outdoor session?
-
It's Texas, we don't have bad weather here! LOL If the weather changes it’s mind, we can either move the session indoors to the studio, or reschedule the session. It's not your fault the weather is crazy sometimes;)
- What is the best time to schedule a High School Senior portrait session with you?
-
The best time to schedule Senior Portraits is different for each Senior, but it’s definitely earlier rather than later. We begin scheduling Seniors the summer before they start their final year. This is especially helpful with seniors who opt for multiple sessions during the year.
- Can I choose the location for my session?
-
Of course! Your portraits are even better when we use locations that have special meaning. But if you don’t have a location in mind, we have several that we like to use and can find one that will best suit your vision.
- Do you offer hair and makeup services as part of a package?
-
We do not offer hair and makeup as a part of any of our packages, but we are more than happy to help you find a trusted professional in the area.
